Josephine Favre-AAVF President, Beatrice Gakuba -Executive Director- the African Women Agribusiness networks Africa (AWAN-AFRIKA), Janet Nyamusi-Environmental Expert – The AAVF, Veronica Shangali-AAVF Vice President, Mr.Ogbole Samson- Lead Trainer of Soilless Farm Lab (Eupepsia place Ltd). Mr. Peter Nyateng- The Lead Trainer AAVF-Kenya. They were received by the College Principal – Prof. Rose Nyikal (CAVS) and Dean Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. George Chemining’wa.
The delegation met students and discussed the importance of the agricultural industry and the various opportunities that the students can tap to improve their livelihood. They explained how the association through their training programmes have assisted in developing skills of youths and women in Africa to start growing local food sustainably .organizing Agroecology workshops and courses in Africa for young farmers on topics like Good Agricultural practices (GAP), controlled grazing systems, integrated pest management (IPM), Conservation tillage, crop rotation mulching, cover crops, water use efficiency and soil nutrients management. The students were presented with talks on the modern farming state of the art technologies and methods as tools to galvanize the agricultural industry. They also encouraged young graduates to join the industry and help revolutionize it.
